Bob Zeidman Earns IEEE Outstanding Engineer Award for Pioneering
Contributions to Software Forensics
Zeidman receives second Outstanding Engineer award from the Santa Clara

Zeidman Consulting,
a research and development contract firm specializing in

forensics, today announced that founder and president
Bob Zeidman was recognized by the Santa Clara Valley
Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE) with its Outstanding Engineer Award.
Zeidman received the prestigious honor for his
pioneering contributions to the field of software
forensics.
The IEEE Awards program credits technical professionals
whose accomplishments and contributions have made a
significant impact on technology, society and the
engineering profession. While
Zeidman has expertise in several fields of engineering,
he is particularly renowned for his innovative work in
software forensics.
Zeidman is considered a pioneer in the field for turning
a subjective process into a quantitative measure and a
reliable methodology. His book, “The
Software IP Detective's Handbook,”
is the standard reference and textbook on software
forensics.
His work has informed rulings in more than 150
high-profile court cases involving billions of dollars
in disputed intellectual property.
This marks Zeidman’s second
award from the Santa Clara
Valley Section of IEEE. The nominator for this award was
Ralph Bernstein, an IEEE Fellow for “contributions to
digital image processing techniques of earth observation
sensor data and applications to operational systems."
